Intermission 2: The Hovertrain to Chooru with Stops in ?

#21

Kolgol twitched slightly and sat silently for several minutes. After a time, he said,

“Why would you free me? You have me here completely at your mercy, and yet you would let me go? Logically the correct thing to do would be to have my head off and be done with it.”

He shifted his zela cuffs in discomfort as he sat up straighter.

“I want to talk to a higher up in the EEF directly and hear their reasoning for this. I will not believe a single word of this until I do.”

#22

Lurtor shrugs "The higher ups are listening and reviewing the tapes. You may or may not hear from them. I’m here because it was my push to try and find a solution for the 3 of you that didn’t involve the EEF imprisoning olgogs. I don’t think that will help relations between earthers and Olgogs. And that is a top priority of mine. Also You will be tracked, watched, and have to earn trust in the time while you do those missions. So its not freedom right off the bat

And the only reason Kolgol I included you in the deal was because of Gobbog. If you didn’t accept the Larva, I would have talked about freedom in front of you.

Whether you believe or not, I don’t care. It will be your choice to rot in Jail, or you work for your freedom to help gogs and earthers. Either way you’ll pay something for your crimes Kolgol. And if you feel you should really be punished even more, I can request that they put you in the worst possible prison.

Also, Keep this in mind Kolgol, if you accept this deal and go back to the demon or become a danger to Olgogs again. I will hunt and kill you. That will be my responsibility for requesting this deal for you. You won’t know when, where, or who I will appear as. But if you go back to evil, you will not live out the month. That is my promise and my job."

With the Last part, Lurtor dropped his normal easy going attitude and let Kolgol see the Olgog whose eyes were like steel and cold like the assassin he was. And after a second, his expressions returned to normal.

Lurtor continues "I really don’t want to kill you, so I’m hoping I’m correct. I hope the Good that Gobbog sees is real. I hope your drive to save the Gogs you condemned is as strong as you show.

So as I said, the bosses may or may not show. I don’t know. You may have to makeup your mind without them. Also, I hope this addresses why we would let you go while we have you where we want you? "

Lurtor knew he maybe sent to capture Kolgol, but Kolgol could think the worst if he lapsed.

(OOC Player understands why you might not trust Lurtor. Lurtor is another thing)

#23

Kolgol stared calculatingly back at Lurtor.

“If I return to the path I walked before you would be hard pressed to find something left of me to kill. Kalok plays for keeps, and not to sound my own horn but I make a damn good host. I can’t speak for these fellows but if what you say is true, and you deliver what you say you will, I will accept this offer. However, I want to make sure I’m not just killing people the EEF doesn’t like or cleaning up their messes.”

#24

Gobbog listened carefully and pondered on Lurtor’s words.

He listened to Kolgol with equal care.

Then he dangled his legs some more uncomfortably.

Finally he adjusted his new wristware and said, "Lurtor when Aryay HiveQueen died all her pit mongrels were turned back into normal green fur Olgogs, all her Flayers turned into Aegelis. Olgogs, Earthers and others who were hosts to her Quall Larvae were freed and the larvae become the Aryeserai.

I would disrespect the loving memory of blessed Ar’yay, may her name be thrice blessed, if I were to buy my freedom by becoming the EEF hit man.

I cannot accept the deal if I am used as an assassin.
In good faith I would agree to these five missions as long as they were not to kill for the EEF.

I would feel better about the whole situation if our first mission was to rescue Kolgols people from the evil Kalok."

#25

Lurtor says "They do not set you up to fail. They want their missions to succeed. There are plenty of non assassination missions.

In Fact, I’m going to request that you join me as one of your first missions. Which actually, you may wish you wanted to assassinate someone instead. And your Larva maybe aware of the name I’ll tell you.

A little bit of time ago, I was sent on a mission to destroy a ancient suppose to be extinct being called the Neliff. They grow larva inside a host like the quall with the exception is that the host gains no benefit and is generally dead quickly as the Neliff grow in days. They are very evil enough that the Quall and the falonsi actually joined forces to destroy them long ago.

One of the clean up team used an annihilation wave was used to destroy their hive. Everything looked destroyed including a mountain. It was an annihilation wave after all. And before you ask, I don’t know who they were. I have not seen him before.

I was just told that they possibly feed on annihilation leyas and were most likely not destroyed. We need to destroy them before they kill everything on refuge.

Gobbog, this is where you come in. I’m told by a reliable source that the best way to battle them is with a powerful larva of your own. This made me think of the Aryeserai. We need may need gogs with those larva to fight the Neliff if they truely were not destroyed.

This is the type of mission I hope you will be sent on."

#26

Dargor’lur shrugged, “I don’t care either way. I was told to get Kolgol back to his people and that is all I care about right now. Where ever he goes I will go, or I will find a way there.”

#27

Kolgol glanced at Dargor’lur with slight interest, making a mental note to ask who sent him later. He looked back at Lurtor and stared intently at him, and bared his incisors wolfishly.

“I accept your terms, but if you, or the EEF use me to some end against my people or to some selfish gain, I will make you regret it. I will hold you personally responsible for anything they do to me, or these gogs.”

He gestured with bound hands at the ones who had attempted to free him.

#28

Lurtor look shifts to one of annoyance and he says "Kolgol, you are the only one who has committed evil against your tribe and yourself for selfish gains. Don’t throw that back at me or the EEF. And I’m not your mother gog to keep you from being used. Grow up and take responsibility for your actions. You are not a cub. You are here because of your crimes, not because there was a vendetta against you or your tribe.

I know this is some tough love, but I think you need to hear it. Until you take responsibility, you cannot move past this and you’ll keep lashing out at those who are trying to help you."

Lurtor knew he was not the comforting type. He could not just continue to say things in a nice way when he had better things to do that babysit. But he knew these gogs could help defeat the Neliffs, and that was the important mission.

Lurtor’s face went back to normal and he said "If you think you are being used in a way that hurts Olgogs, let me know. I might not see it from the same perspective.

It is true that there are some in leadership that don’t care about Olgogs. But there are some that do. You would be surprised. One time I had to intervene to convince an Olgog in the EEF that they didn’t need to orbitally bomb Krodnok’s area because a captive he stole from a gang. One the EEF was after. But you see. Its not just the Earthers. It us Olgogs as well. On the other hand, I saw the head of the EEF order my Bosses to get to the Olgog Lands personally and eliminate a threat to the Olgogs. And it wasn’t an Olgog just to head that off.

There are good and bad earthers and olgogs in the EEF. That is why trusted and good Olgogs are needed to work with the EEF. Gobbog is one I hope joins with me. Kolgol, you have the chance to, but you need to fix your attitude."

Lurtor thought to himself, there, that was a good explanation. And maybe even a good lesson. He could be patient… well maybe.

#29

Dargor’lur, Kolgol and Gobbog were loaded off the Hovertrain secretly by the EEF in Simonsburg and taken to a safehouse.
Their location was unknown but the room itself was in the Earther style with four thick leather couches. The cuffs had been removed but the room was clearly warded against elemental leyas.

#30

Sitting across from them was Lurtor and an Earther they were unfamiliar with. Lurtor knew him as Wicked Fixx or at least that was the Olgogs name when he had been an assassin in the Goblin Lands. A master shapeshifter Fixx was currently in the form of Lt. Dobson of the EEF. Since none of them knew Dobson it was a perfect form.

Fixx began speaking, "Welcome to VLAD Squad 107. You have been given a temporary reprieve to prove yourself.

If you attack your handlers you will be executed. If you engage in terrorist attacks you will be executed.
If you attempt to escape before your five missions are up you will be hunted down and eliminated.

I want to make sure you understand the conditions of your employment.

Don’t make us regret this offer.
If you would prefer we can attach a bomb collar to you but I feel you would prefer to simply be trusted. Don’t make us regret that trust."

#31

All three knew lurtor but none had a name for this person addressing them and before they asked he said, “You haven’t earned my name just my rank. Specialist.”

#32

Lurtor also knew Fixx would be forced to take the fall for their escape if anyone learned the three were not in custody.
Lurtor felt bad for Fixx but he was a good VLAD agent.

#33

Lurtor says to Wicked Fixx "Now that the intro is done with. I would like to have our new candidates join me on a hunt. There is an extremely dangerous creature infesting beings… I’m unsure if its giants, Olgogs, Earthers, or all of the above until we get there and I can see. I talk of the Neliffs. "

Then lurtor says to the others "
I know Kolgol, you wish to go after your demon, but you are not ready and do not have a larva yet or know how to use one. Until you gain the control and ability to not be taken over by this demon and until we have a plan of how to deal with, we cannot handle your tribes demon problem. But I expect you will get your chance, but Neliffs are here now and infesting many I expect.

I would like to take this Neliff or Neliffs out. I also need physical proof of their existence. This is needed to get other races involved in the fight against the Neliffs, as not all want to believe they exist again."

(OOC Lurtor is talking about the Intermission Mission 4 of course. But I’m trying to have a little back and forth before I explain all of the neliff stuff Lurtor knows)

#34

“This should help. I was told that we have a little time gained by Unit 817, so we can use this to prepare for the dark one to strike.” he looked to Kolgol. “We strike this, get the gear and wisdom we need then free your people, then we live and more survive.”

Looking at Lurtor he said “Do you have any more information on these…Neliffs?”

#35

Lurtor says "Yes. This will be my second mission to wipe out the neliffs. The first one was thought to have succeeded, but looks like it didn’t. I have also confirmed a few things from the Falosini and more rumors from their legends. So I can tell you from that.

Neliffs are vulnerable to Cold and possibly acid… of course most things don’t like acid. They eat Annihilation Waves for breakfast. By legend, Annihilation leyas won’t affect them. But since I watched all the neliffs get destroyed by annihilation wave, only for them to not be, I support that legend.

hmmm… Let see… Oh they are master of Illusions that managed to show themselves as destroyed and fool a dozen of the most powerful earthers, gogs, and other that I know of.

They seem to have a hive mind. I would consider what one knows, they rest do too.

There is good news. We were able to shoot giants infested with Neliffs with High powered rifles and magi cannons, killing the host and some of the neliffs… But the neliffs did jump out of their old hosts trying to attack someone close. I think they froze them. So hand to hand with them is most likely a bad idea.

The real problem is that they infest and reproduce quickly. And are smart enough to stay hidden while their numbers expand."

Lurtor was not one to cherry coat anything. They needed to know to be careful. This is a dangerous mission.

#36

Then takes out video player and shows the video of the neliff nest. The bodies hanging all over the place in the huge cave with Neliffs climbing all of over them. With their Tentacles lower half, Humanoid torso, 2 claws.

Lurtor cut the video off before the annihilation wave. He also tried to make sure he showed the part where the other members of his party were not visible. No need to blow any secret identities.

#37

Lurtor says "So as you can see from the video, the neliffs are small, but the results of existence just for a short time killed many. We need to eliminate these Neliffs quickly and fast.

I am waiting on a report to see what the neliffs are infesting currently. They seem to like Olgogs and Giants if judging from the past. My general plan is to create a frost storm over them. The song used to create the storm is a powerful one, but it might not be enough to take out giants as well. So then I was thinking others take them out at range if possible. I think we should avoid melee if possible. Gobbog, from what I was told, you maybe able to survive melee with them if your larva could protect you from the Neliff’s control.

Lurtor then asked “Also, Can any of you shift your appearance? Especially you Kolgol. We don’t want to advertise your soon to be freedom and get people upset before you have a chance to prove yourself.”

#38

Kolgol grimaced as he listened to the reports. He was vaguely familiar with the legends of Neliffs, and he knew that they were a problem to be taken seriously. He stroked his maroon fur for a moment and then asked,

“What of fire and earth leyas? Do they have any effect on these creatures? How do they prefer to fight? Up close and personal, or can they use leyas against us from a distance? Also, how will we deal with these illusions that they use to feign their own deaths?”

#39

Gobbog made a concerned face and said, “These Neliff sound dangerous. I would like to consult with the patriarch of the Aryeserai about this matter.”

He closed his eyes as he communes with the Aryeserai collective. Then he opens them and says, “Ar’yay the Thrice Blessed declared the Neliff enemies of all before her passing. It seems We have a mutual enemy.”

#40

Lurtor says to Kolgol "Your questions are good. But no one has told me otherwise. Of course if you are able to destroy their body, that should kill just about anything. The only thing I know is that annihilation leyas doesn’t kill them. And the annihilation leyas messed with our senses and artifacts. I could only see the annihilation leyas. So that may have helped the Neliff hide their existence from us. I don’t know.

But I think the real key to find them maybe your kind Gobbog. I think your senses will have a chance. I know I can detect them if they are possessing someone. And i can even point out who. When we attack, over a commcrystal, I can relay who is actually infested.

The Falosni told me that a strong Larva was how the Neliff were beaten before."

Lurtor of course was keeping the fact that it was Falosini with Larva that beat the neliff before. He didn’t think they would appreciate him spreading that.

Lurtor continues "Gobbog, can you get that larva for Kolgol soon? Maybe more? It may help him keep control of himself if the Neliff come too close. "
